About New China Hibachi & Sushi Buffet

All you can eat buffet

Located at 2636 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306, New China Hibachi & Sushi Buffet operates as a chinese buffet serving Staten Island in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. Typical hours are 11 AM–10 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (718) 987-3388. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, newchinabuffetsi.com.

Staten Island is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Staten Island follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

No AC on half of the restaurant, and front desk intentionally brought most people to the side without ac. Like picking which customers are easy to bully while the other side of the restaurant was semi empty. It is 100 degrees outside. Food is ok, not much selection less than the weekend regardless of it being the same price.

The food here is alright for the price. I came here for lunch, so I can't speak for the options available for dinner. But, I can say that the lunch definitely was worth the money. After tax and tip, I paid around 20 dollars. This is a pretty good price for the options available. I ate plenty of clams, scallion beef, and yellowtail sushi. Service was quick in taking away finished plates from the table. Refill of water was quick. The sushi selection is not the best to write home about, but it does hit the spot for sushi. The frog legs were nice and spicy. I enjoyed the cream cheese wontons. Rotisserie chicken was very dry, but who gets chicken when there's beef. One thing I do need to point out is that the guy making the sushi was coughing around with no face covering. I only noticed after getting my second round of sushi. At that point I had already eaten plenty of sushi, so it's whatever. But this was definitely alarming since there are plenty of elderly people who come here to eat. All in all, the food was great for the price. Twenty dollars and I was stuffed. It's not going to be gourmet food, but I did enjoy it.

This is a large, clean, and spacious restaurant. I was impressed with the wide selection of food stations, from the salad bar to the hibachi station where you can have your meal custom-made. Places this size can be hit or miss, but fortunately everything here was good. As a large family, we had a wonderful time. The staff were attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!

The staff here is very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience better. Unfortunately, the food itself was pretty mediocre. The tuna sashimi didn’t taste fresh at all, which was disappointing for a buffet that highlights sushi. My mom actually a pretty bad stomach ache after words. One of the sushi dishes tasted very sour to her (it was a shrimp sushi). The only dishes I genuinely enjoyed were the Peking Duck and the Mei Fun noodles β€” those had good flavor and were worth going back for. Overall, it’s not terrible, but it’s not a place I’d rush back to unless the quality improves.

I recently visited New China Buffet in Hyland, Staten Island, and I have to say, it was an incredible experience! The variety of dishes available was impressive, offering everything from classic Chinese cuisine to sushi and a delightful dessert selection. The food was fresh, flavorful, and consistently replenished, which made the dining experience even better. The ambiance was welcoming, and the staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that our plates were cleared promptly and that we had everything we needed. For the price, you truly get an amazing value, and it's a perfect spot for both family gatherings and casual meals. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family!
